Very busy place, food is very good and service was good. This place is in the quaint downtown section of Balboa Island.

Food was surprisingly good considering how much variety was on the menu. 3/4 of the items ordered were good for the: quality, portion size, and cost.Service was very good and the staff were very friendly.Good place for picky eaters or children.

This is a lovely little spot right by the water. The menu has nice variety of items. Love any place where you can order breakfast food any time of the day. Delicious! Also great local beer selection.

Great burger & beer selections. Service was great too.

We always stop here during the Christmas boat parade. It's become as much of a tradition as the parade itself. The staff is very friendly, the wait times are short and the food is excellent (especially the fry chips!). Do yourself a favor and make a stop at Wilma's, you won't be disappointed!

My wife and I stopped in 4 years ago thinking we would get tacos but, after reading over the menu, we decided on the burger. Our last night in Newport I ask my wife where she wanted to eat and she said she wanted another burger from Wilma’s. It has got to be the best burger we have ever had and the fries were just perfect. We have never found one to compare to Wilmas. Something came up on my phone that mentioned Balboa Island and I had to look up Wilmas. We mention Wilmas a lot , telling friends what a wonderful place it was and our mouths water remembering that delicious burger. I believe it was Wilma’s daughter that talked to us and told us a little history of the restaurant. Hopefully our travels will bring us back to California from West Virginia someday.Wilmas will be our first stop!

A family restaurant like no other. Bring in the whole family, or come alone and they'll make you feel like family.I've known Sheri for over 30 years, and in that time I've only ever had great food, great service, and a great experience every visit... even when Sheri's not there.Wilma's menu is unbelievable. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner... American, Mexican, Italian, Seafood... I can't think of an item not offered... and they're all fantastic. This is a restaurant that caters to the island locals as well as the daily tourists. A great place to sit, eat and talk with good friends before or after shopping up and down Marine Avenue, or a power-walk around the island, or a paddle around the harbor, or just on a day when you want to do nothing except enjoy a great meal.Wilma's is a favorite to all... and for good reason.

Laurie our waitress was so Sweet and was very attentive.Mary our hostess was great andPepe, he was everywhere. We had huevos rancheros, Pancakes, bacon and eggs, And the coffee was great.Cute place, we sat on the front patio. As I walked around the restaurant I realize that they had not just the front patio, a bunch of different rooms, a big back patio and a huge bar area.If you have time to go have breakfast I WOULD recommend this place, it was fun.All of the staff were super friendly.

We stopped by after the boat parade. The owners were VERY NICE and hospitable to our large group on the patio. We enjoyed a glass of wine and beer. The Lizards Mouth was a popular choice. We will need to come back for the pumpkin pancakes.

Best comfort food on the island. I have been going there for years. The wait staff are super friendly. Highly recommend. Not a place for food snobs.

What a wonderful little place to enjoy breakfast on Balboa Island. The service was great and the food was delicious. We could not have asked for a better experience. We had the Spanish Omelette and the corned beef hash and eggs. Both were served with fruit which was super fresh and super tasty. We had a slice of the cornbread, which seemed like a mixture of cornbread and yellow cake-mix, but was still delicious. We also had sourdough toast which was on point. One Bloody Mary and one cup of coffee made the meal perfect. If you are on Balboa Island I highly recommend this place for breakfast.

Located in Balboa, surrounded by the beautiful ocean, 2 min from Auto Ferry and next to many amazing boutiques and great eats! Perfect place for breakfast, very popular with locals. And I can tasted why! Service was great by management team. The host didnt seem to take notice of us. But the manager made sure to see if we were being served and got us menus, at least his aura said manager. The food was delicious and and the fruit was so sweet and fresh. We loved the coffee and the atmosphere felt like home. Even the locals greeted us nicely with good mornings. Left us satisfied and wanting to go back. Our next time around we will be visiting again! Thank you for a great first time experience!

Great restaurant. Most of the menus is comfort food that looks amazing coming out. The fish tacos were on point. The wait staff was attentive, helpful, and friendly. Very impressed by a restaurant with little competition on an island. 5 stars.

My experience with them was great! My fish looked uncooked. When I asked our server about it, she brought me a new plate. After she saw that I haven’t eaten much, she charged me half off. It was a very kind gesture. We also had ordered burgers which were tasty. Omg, the chips were amazing!!

A local diner on Balboa Island in Newport Beach which boasts several large themed rooms for customers. The food is quite good and portions are substantial, and the service is extremely quick. There is a sense of we are one of the few and, therefore, one of the top eating establishments on the island; maybe that's why the prices are so high. $4.50 for a small glass of orange juice. But after all, it is located in a posh, quaint area of the Newport Beach marina district. That's what one would expect - or maybe it's just my own naivete.

Awesome restaurant in a nice area with a comfy feel. Food was great at breakfast time and was delivered quickly. Waiter was nice and obliged our change of heart on of the orders. I highly recommend checking this place out for breakfast/brunch.

One of those place that is a hidden gem. The staff is friendly oh so friendly which is worth 5 stars in itself. Good luck chosing what to eat, the menu is expansive. The rueben was I thought a little small in size but so filling and so incredibly good. And the fries, yum! Highly recommend and prices are reasonable. The meatloaf sandwich got a thumbs up too, it was huge!

When they say BIG salad, they're not kidding! The Turkey cobb was perfect, staff amazing and topped it off with their featured boysenberry pie baked by a local bakery â¤

We three had a late lunch there. Two of us had a mini feast (half sandwich) which was very good. The salad ordered with the mini feast was quite large and worth it. The fries were more like a thick crinkle cut potato chips. These ok but not great. The veggie Swiss mushroom burger was not too good, would not order again.

This place has wonderful service as well as delicious menu. My favourite restaurant ever. The drinks and food came out fast and the prices are fair. Highly recommended.

Extremely expensive. Usually long wait, but decent food. Note that the Village Inn on the corner has good breakfast and no wait.

Wow, AMAZING! We went today and we were in a rush because we had to go to the airport right after. Even though the place was packed (it’s Sunday), they quickly found us a table and served us right away, the food was delicious! Big thanks to the waiter who was AWESOME, unfortunately I forgot his name, but man he was fast. Thank you, will be definitely coming back!

Love this place! The food delicious, the service amazing, the pie was it of this world! The place has the diner vibe, with lots of room to accommodate big parties. The server was fantastic, very attentive, good suggestions, and good timing. I would recommend this place without a doubt to my friends. Also, the menu selection is incredible, the carnitas are delicious.

Love this place! Have been coming here for years. It's like having a meal at your families. The service, food and atmosphere makes this a hopping place for locals and smart tourist's. The patio is dog friendly and they go out of their way to seat dog families out there first. Don't tell everyone! Keep it local😉

Island staple- they have every category from breakfast classics, Mexican favorites, pastas, sandwiches.... they’ve got it all! And it’s delicious!
Noriko Carnes
Attentive waIt staff. Variety in menu and great food. Something for everyone.

Great diner. Stopped by with friends for a quick dinner. Quesadilla, meatloaf sandwich, and BLT were all very good. It's a low key vibe with very friendly service! Will be coming back.

First, service was great! The staff was very friendly and nice, and was also very polite to each other (good team dynamics means good service), and us. Food was fresh, and hearty at the same time, which it is such a hard combination to achieve. The variety and portions makes the menu very home-like, and comfortable. The healthy options makes you feel like your in a judgment free zone. It’s a great 1st time restaurant, and a good restaurant to return to regularly. Overall a great restaurant to have in your community. I only wish I had a place like this in my community.

Great food and service. Nice atmosphere

last night was the first time we came to that place. But It is no doubt not the last time. We had great time with the good service, with the fine cuisine and booze and with the modest charge. We will surely come back again.

The restaurant is nice and broad, the food was enchanting and the prices were very fair. quick, effective service and very amiable staff. I recommend this place.

Quiet, comfortable spot for breakfast on Balboa Island. Try their Bombers, which are scrambles stuffed inside the hollowed out shell of a mini loaf of bread. Yum!
Randy Focker
This place was exactly what I was looking for while on Balboa. Very nice size and great floor plan. Small patio out front if you have a dog. We sat at the bar for lunch and the food was fantastic. The waitress we had was over the top-funny, friendly, great advice on the menu, my only regret is I forgot her name. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice casual meal. I got the meatloaf sandwich. 😋

Homey place. Real locals spot. Friendly staff. Meat loaf sandwich my husband had was very flavorable. I had the Salmon Salad was a good portion and tasty. Fish was a little over cooked tho. Overall a nice place for lunch

Ate breakfast here on successive last November. Excellent service and excellent food! I am presently off potatoes, so I asked if they could substitute some fruit. Not only did they substitute, they presented fruit of approximately five or six kinds, all delicious! I very much recommend them.
Andrew Suihkonen
So good!! Had the French Toast combo and it was delicious! Our waitress Lori (sorry if this isn't the correct spelling) was awesome! So friendly and engaging! Definitely recommend and will be back!

Great ambience and good food. Expect waiting time during peak hours. We had around 20 mins wait time for Sunday breakfast. The Belgian waffle with fresh strawberry and cream was so good.
Neil Herron
Great place. Food was great. The service was awesome. And the prices were perfect. Thank you Wilma's. I look forward to going again soon

Great service! And yummmmyyy food! The salsa is flavorful and spicy. The eggs Benedict with ham is delicious and very satisfying. And the mimosas are very generous in sparkling wine. ⤠the quesadilla was very filling too!

Nice local Balboa Island place to eat (if you get the breakfast special, order the extra meat for a dollar). Parking can be an issue. if you don't mind paying for parking by Balboa Pier, park on the other side of the lot from the pier, walk to the ferry. Take the ferry, walk along the beach boardwalk until it's time to walk to Wilma's, have a chocolate dipped banana, walk along the other side of the island back to the ferry.

The Jalisco Belly Bomber w/carnitas is amazing!! Did you know, that the roof beams were actually made from timber from the original Balboa Island bridge??

My husband and I went here for breakfast while on vacation. Exceptional service, but honestly the food was comparable with Denny's. I couldn't even finish my coffee because it was so weak and for $3.50 that was pretty disappointing. Hash browns were not crisp and the pancakes were chewy. Maybe this place is better for lunch/dinner, and again, the service was great so I am reviewing solely based on the food.
